This fall, I built a leaf remover/snowblower car for the railroad. It works pretty well, but it massacres 9V batteries. I haven't tried it in the snow yet.

Over the weekend, I was able to get some more work done on the expansion. The trains are able to run in a full circle again, but the power is not hooked up along the bridge. I was able to run the steam engine for a while, and it worked beautifully.

This post is a little belated, but at Christmas I received a new engine for my outdoor railroad. It is a live steam 0-4-0 with a tender, very similar to the electric 0-4-0 I have. I also got 2 new 40 ft. double-truck steel boxcars.

The track is having some strange problems. I tried to make a portable control panel, but for some reason none of the track sections work. I'm considering switching to battery power. Also, I want to get more track and expand the railroad. I should be posting more up-to-date pictures soon.

This year I hope to solve a problem with the ballast under the curve around the station and along the front of the pond. Every time it rains, the ballast gets washed out between the rock wall. I'm going to try putting some mortar in between the rocks.

After feet of snow in January, it's finally going away. We can see grass in our yard now, and it won't be long until I can get to work.

It's coming to the end of the building season; snow should start falling in November. I had hoped to begin constructing the Mine Spur this year, but I had neither the materials or the time. This winter there might be some new video and pictures of trains in the snow and the snow plow running.

On Memorial Day I pulled out weeds in the station and along the road and planted Impatiens along the road and in the parking lot.

Unable to work on train because of rain. Hope that new ballast didn't wash away.

Stream is cleaned and is now running. Also took video of line. (video in 'My Layouts')
